I have failed twice to do this. When I try to install the upgrade, the installation stops at 52% and I am asked to press the power button (Your system needs to restart).

When I try booting, unsurprisingly, I get an unsupported CPU error and cannot boot.

Is this a fixable (through DSDT) RTC bug, or is there no chance I can ever install 10.5.6 on this system ?

System : 1.6 GHz Celeron on 1 GHz memory (Acer Travelmate 2420). Currently, I have almost everything working except for hibernate / resume.

Before updating open terminal and type:

sudo while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done <return>

type your password <return> DONT CLOSE TERMINAL and install the update.

Restart Leopard.

Good Luck, Giorgio

Thanks for the response, but I do not have an AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext file in that directory.

I also checked out the following link (which says pretty much what you are saying) :

It asks me not to restart. However, that is impossible as the update asks me to click restart *before* I even install the update (I am using Software Update).

All in all, I am now fairly confused.
