  1. 10.10.2 is out!

Same. Upon further inspection the System Requirement of the Combo seems to be limited to 10.10, not 10.10.1.
  2. Thanks! Installed and set up Clover to inject a few kexts and spoof my old ass AMD4800's device ID and everything just works. Absolutely loving Yosemite!
  3. ALC888 Mavericks DP7

Thanks! But that one's even older (1.7.4a1) than the only one that's only worked for me (2.1.1), so I guess it probably won't work too well in Mavericks. I'm now settled with VoodooHDA temporarily. (What I meant before was that patching the AppleHDA in the system has always failed me, but this old one I obtained did work... until Mavericks, that is.)
  4. ALC888 Mavericks DP7

Doesn't work for me. I think this MSI board doesn't like to be used as a hackintosh. ALC888 has been failing me since Snow Leopard
  5. AppleHDA Patching in 10.9 Mavericks

Anyone with ALC888? I've tried dozens of solutions posted by people since Snow Leopard, the only one that worked I couldn't recall where I got it, but it's a really old version, and gives out electric buzzes (don't know what you call it, but annoying as hell) in Mavericks from time to time. Stuck with Voodoo, which barely works, for now... EDIT: Tried this... In addition to binary patch AppleHDA (8419d411 > 8808ec10), I just turn on the HDEF bit in Clover and HDAInject 888. Still no luck (grey icon in the menubar "no output device," and lots of sound assertion of course). Am I missing something?
  6. Clover General discussion

I've manually patched the Info.plist and made everything work (had to use a rollback AppleHDA), but just for science's sake, I'll revert it and use DarwinDumper to see what's the problem. Post back later! EDIT: Well this is weird. Now it won't revert back to the non-accelerated state, even if I remove 0x94421002 from Info.plist and reboot without cache... Guess I'll have to wait until next time I reinstall it (GM's around the corner anyway ) EDIT2: And... After a few more reboots, it's suddenly broken again. I saw something like "Forced load /System/Library/Extensions/AMD4800Controller.kext/Content/Info.plist" at the start of Clover, and then the kext failed to load due to dependency IOGraphicsFamily not yet loaded. Is this a problem with the kext patching/injecting? (Like, when I tried to inject RealtekRTL81xx.kext, it failed also missing IONetworkingFamily. Only worked after I put it in S/L/E). Link to Darwin dump. Another thing that confuses me is that during my experiment, a few kexts remain broken even if I explicitly choose to boot without cache. But guess what? After I rebuild cache and boot "without cache" again, it works. Wha...? What's the policy regarding cache here?
  7. Clover General discussion

Hmm... Boot without cache -> rebuild cache -> reboot with cache right? Didn't work here... My config.plist (I'm on 1995): Btw, which one is the coronet option regarding boot.log and where to find the log? Didn't show up in Console even when I didn't disable debug, etc.
  8. Clover General discussion

    1. Oh. I thought Clove patch it on-the-fly without really touching the kext. Will surely try that next time! 2. I had both on. Didn't work. Thanks and sorry about not giving enough information. Been a while since I had to re-learn hackintosh! (And everything is so different now. UEFI MB, UEFI graphics, UEFI crazy-fast boot, and nearly perfect hackintosh. Mind blown.)
  9. Clover General discussion

Hi there. I'm planning to build a new rig, so trying out Clover on my current machine now. I've already met several challenges, but I'll just ask them one by one slowly One thing I've noticed first is that no matter which way I setup graphics in Clover, i.e. 1. KextsToPatch AMD4800Controller Info.plist: 0x94401002 -> 0x94421002, or 2. FakeID: ATI -> 0x94421002 It simply doesn't work and sends me into a non-accelerated desktop with wrong ratio and 7MB of VRAM. Now if I manually add my 0x94421002 into the kext in S/L/E and rebuild cache like the old way, it works flawlessly. Why is this happening?
  10. OS X 10.9 DP's builds

Heard there's great performance improvement. Do you see it?
  11. OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

Does the MBR patching support 10.9?
  12. Just tried it. Confirm fixed!
  13. Just updated my Chameleon and hit the same situation (won't recognize my 4850, giving me a phantom VGA display), been wondering and trying all kinds of fixes until I checked this thread... Rolled back to an earlier version and now it's all good. I'll wait for the fix to land on trunk. Thanks for you guys!
  14. Mountain Lion MBR Patch

Well it seems to give me a blank selection for custom installation. I used the one on osx86.net instead.
  15. Mountain Lion MBR Patch

    Finally! Thanks.
