hiaw
Buying more memory for my MacBook. Shopping around and notice a lot of difference in price. Does brand matter? Kingston seems to have a MacBook specific RAM but Corsair have a cheaper option. I remember when I used to build my pc desktop, I just go with the cheapest option with the right frequency, is that ok for my MacBook? Colonel
I think that would be okay. Try to get the same kind though. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14389-upgrade-macbook-memory/#findComment-91906 Share on other sites
A Nonny Moose
OS X, unlike a lot of other systems, is EXTREMELY picky with RAM. Pick the wrong kind or one with a minor flaw in it and the Mac won't boot up (I found this out the hard way). You'll be better off getting the Kingston RAM and putting them into the machine in matched pairs.
