Hey there, got a chance to finally start working on an osx86 box with the available parts. ;) But, there's an issue with that, and it's installing it.

Setting up to install is no problem, and it'll install to a point, but then it freezes. Well, it doesn't freeze, but the progress bar won't go any further. It just hangs on the install at a certain point every time, no matter what options I choose. Here's a list of things that might help!

Using Iatkos 10.5.5

Pentium D 820

Elitegroup PT890t-A

2048 ddr2 800

Radeon X1800 GTO

So, anyone able to help me? I'm gonna try Ideneb when it's done downloading to see if that works for me.

Your MOBO has VIA PT890 Northbridge and VIA VT8237A Southbridge chipsets AFIK........you may need to try theStevo 4.5 patch.......

I could give it a try. But I'm reading it, it's saying that's it for the Kalyway release...Should it be fine patching it?

It should be.......the patching steps are in the thread......

Alternatively, you could try iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 (Public Beta Release)....it has VIA chipset drivers......

I didn't think about that one. I could stop the ideneb and go ipc.

Actually, something that just hit me, Iatkos does have the ide/sata drivers for via platform. So then shouldn't it have via chipsets?

It may have......but even if it has them in the install packages it may not in the DVD boot Extensions.mkext.....
