asadev
Sorry for another 10.5.6 firewire topic. The board is the Asus P5K-VM and i cant seem to get the onboard firewire working. Ive tried the AHCI 10.5.6 fix by subby but that didnt seem to solve it. Ive also tried loading all the firewire 10.5.5 kexts as they worked fine, but again no success. What other kexts could of caused this problem? Any recommendations would be great. I'm running MAC OS X 10.5.6 and apparently, every 10.5.6 versions usually have problems with firewire. I deleted the "AppleHPET.kext" under System/Library/Extenstions and my system now detects my firewire card at 400 Mb/sec and was able to capture video from my miniDV cam to my Final Cut Studio Pro. I hope it would solve your problem. But always make sure to backup your files before doing the surgery. Goodluck to you!
