cgguy
The easiest way to install Windows for Kalyway 10.5.2 is using Parallels or VMWare Fusion in a file based VM. I've used Fusion and am happy with it generally. Some people prefer Parallels. A native dual-boot install will give you more options -- games, bluray movies, native speed -- but can be tricky to set up the dual boot. I had pretty good success w/ kalyway 10.5.2, XP, and chain0. But it's still not simple the first time you try it. And I tried a bunch of other setups (vista, easybcd, grub, etc). FYI- if you dual boot and use Fusion, it shows up as a "bootcamp" partition and runs fine -- this is what I prefer. You just can't use the osx bootcamp prefs. I'd go with the file-based VM for now. If you are very tech savvy and want to do the dual boot, read up on the chain0 method available on a bunch of wiki pages. And make a backup before you start! opodeu
Hello thanks for yours replies, Finally I opt for Parallels with a virtualization of windows. I am very impressed by parallels demo . Especially by its ability to add icon on the apple dock. Indeed, my real problem comes from Outlook archive .pst which is not reconized by Entourage (Microsoft product). I don’t want to convert .pst to another format like .nre or .mbox. With Parallels I could use Outlook like an apple application… My computer : EP35-DS3P, 4Go, Q6600, 9800GTX+, 2x500MoSATA with Retail DVD 10.5.5 The SATA HD will be use exclusively for Hackintosh and Parallels Windows for office application. For gaming, I think I will use from my old computer ,its HardDrive in IDE 80Go7200trm and install Windows in… Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141276-best-way-to-install-windows/#findComment-1002703 Share on other sites
~ BlurKing
Haha... I personally prefer Fusion... Easier to use imo. Anyway Windows 7 build 6956 runs great in Fusion although the OS still sucks...
