Drunlade
Just an idea, there are so many DVDs and Patch files around, its impossible to know what works with what. Not to mention some bad naming (like says AMD but is Intel only). Could we have some stickies that have the image name (like "Mac.OS.X.Tiger.10.4.4.X86-HOTiSO") and what hardware it *should* work on and what needs doing to make it work on X, Y and Z (if there is a Z ). I've seen a fair few people ask for this, so it is something needed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14076-suggestion/ Share on other sites
Metrogirl
Thanks, Drunlade. It's a good idea, but the best place for that information is probably the Wiki and there's already much of that info there. Take a look and see if there's a need there and someplace you and other members could give more information. We (the staff) have tried to avoid actively promoting recommendations of this ISO or that Patch to keep us on the right side of the legal people. If we sticky something, it could be seen as an endorsement. If you post something, we have plausible deniability up to a point... I know it sounds tenuous, however we've attracted the wrong sorts of lawyers in the past and we don't want to do it again. Swad
however we've attracted the wrong sorts of lawyers in the past and we don't want to do it again. There's a right sort of lawyer? Oh wait, I guess those on our side. I shouldn't talk, since I'm looking at law school... Drunlade
Ah reading that makes a lot of sense... if I thought for about 5 seconds before posting such an idea maybe I would have thought of the legal issue I'll take a look around the Wiki, its just I know I and many other have been extremely frustrated by images that claim one thing and do another or simply don't say anything at all.
