I tried installing OSX natively using a 10.4.4/4.5 dvd I got from the bay and it would always return an IO error when I partitiooned the disk.. So I installed to the hdd in vmware and it worked. But whenever I boot natively it stalls at Still Waiting for Root Device.. I have tried replacing the AppleOnboardPCATA.kext with one that is supposed to work with CK8S ata and it hasn't fixed my problem. Can anyone help me out here? My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (venice)

MSI K8N Neo4 SLI

2gb Corsair XMS

SATA 250gb hdd

ATA 40gb hdd

ps: I installed OSX onto the PATA drive.

I finally got it to work, I had to put my pata in slave on my dvd burner's primary ata channel. Now though for some reason my dvd burner isn't being picked up..Going to have to check its jumper settings.. but I now have 10.4.4 with working sound, lan, (hopefully soon video)..

Well I guess the reason my dvd drive didn't pick up is my mobo must be buggy.. It now detects the drive about 3 out of 4 boots.. Now I just need to get my onboard Soundblaster Live to work as my PCI soundblaster really sucks lol.

hey, thanx man,

your post allowed me to be able to boot into OSX natively, as i was also experiencing the same problems as you with the Nforce 4 chipset...

Now, to get my 2nd hard disk recognised.... :(
