I customized the install and had it install the basic necessities. I used the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext if that is even the name, and then I added programs to the list to install. That's everything I did.

It says it installs correctly, and then when it goes through the reboot countdown, and it reboots and I take the DVD out since it's set to start the DVD automatically. Then as it goes to the Chameleon/Darwin screen it says, 'Press anything to load setup options' or whatever. I let it go and it boots. It then boots to the grey Apple logo and just sits there.

I went into safe mode/verbose mode, and it shows me the 'waiting on <dict id="0">' error. I don't know what to do after this.

The 7811FX runs on a PM45 Express chipset. It has a 9800GTS, 4 GB ram, and Centrino 2 2.26 ghz processor.

According to this: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...rtables#Gateway

Everything should install 100% fine! It doesn't say which kernels to use, and I don't know if I should try a different one other than the vanilla.

Please help me! :P

I was able to boot into OS X, but during it's welcoming utility, after I select I don't want to migrate info, it freezes for a little bit and then restarts me at the choose a country screen and I can't digress past it! What should I do?!

So I tried to reinstall again, but this time I can't get it to boot up to OS X at all. I wasn't sure if I installed any network kexts so I booted the disc and used disk utility to delete the partition and then I reinstalled making sure no network kexts were installed.

Now, I can't even get it to boot up after reinstalling. I don't know why at all. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

I mean if the Wiki says this computer can use iDeneb and since this is definitely the easiest installer I've used, why isn't it working properly?

These are the specifications of the laptop in question:

Yet I cannot find anyway to install this OS and have it boot again.

Please someone help me. If you can list me what kexts to install and if I should switch from the vanilla kernel. I don't know what to do now.

Ugh.. Please. ;)

I was able to reboot, but I had to do it in safe mode under verbose. It then proceeded to do the SAME exact thing. I made sure I didn't install ANY network drivers.

I installed:

Azalia

Several programs

Chipset drivers for Intel the ICHx ones I think.

That was about it. It loaded to the welcome screen, it proceeded to the data migration screen, and it restarts if I click continue. What the hell am I supposed to do now?!

I finally got it installed, but I'm near positive I don't have sound, I don't have graphics driver installed, I don't have wireless, and I'm using Kalyway 10.5.2.

I'm pretty sure I'm using the sleep kernel. Also, my bootloader is either corrupt or I just can't fix it now. I tried doing this: If you already have vista installed primarily, and don't want to reformat, copy the chain0, boot.ini, and ntldr into the C: directory. Boot with Vista DVD-ROM, repair, it will prompt you that there's an error with the bootloader. Reboot, fixed. Then install OS X. Repair permissions. Now, OS X is the main bootloader. Place Vista DVD back in drive, boot, repair, and you have a working bootloader with a lovely OS selection screen. Enjoy.

EDIT: NEVERMIND!

I had to change the active partition in diskpart, and everything is now perfect!

All I need is a fix for my wireless, sound, graphics drivers, my webcam, and oh yeah, it doesn't recognize my laptop keyboard!

It says I don't have a keyboard installed, so I had to plug in my USB keyboard to do anything. Hopefully someone can help me!

Well with that attitude why would someone help you? Sometimes there is no solution to a problem, or a driver hasn't been released. It's not as simple as everything being already out there. It's either get some patience or learn how to write your own drivers. We aren't here to serve you, if we have a solution we'll help, but other than that, some common decency goes a long way.

Now, getting to the part I actually kind of help you...

The processor and mobo should be supported. So platform wise you're fine. For sound, it doesn't like there is any support yet, nor is there support for the wireless (I have the same card, there definetly isn't a driver yet.) As for the keyboard, during installation you may want to see if there is an alternative acpi kext in there, as it solved my problem on a laptop I used to have.

Now graphics card on the otherhand is a doozy. My suggestion is on these forums, get your hands on Aquamac's 9xxx series installer, as well as the NVDarwin 1.2.5 installer. Those worked out great for me, after I had a whole lot of problems with getting QE/CI to work through using EFI Strings. I used those and they solved my problems. On a side note, I'm not much fond of Kalyway. My suggestion is to get your hands on a more up to date distro, iDeneb is my preference at the current moment.

Also, if you're having problems booting, make sure you start with -v and -x, to go into safe mode and install the video drivers, otherwise it might hang.
