Hi,

i cloned my working MBR Partition HD (Samsung 320 GB, 16 MB, SATA) to an new HD (WD 500 GB, 16 MB C., SATA) , GUID Part-Table.

Owner/Rights checked+repaired. Chameleon V11 installed.

Booting witout any problem on the GUID HD.

All working, DOCK reacts, Menüs working,...

BUT:

No, really no App runs. All App crashes , mostly with some security Thread crashed.

I can 100% say that this clone is OK and rights&owners are also OK.

?????

It is an difference to install OS X on GUID to clone an MBR installed OSX to GUID Partition ?

So perhaps must i do something on the GUID HD what MBR didnt need ?

Can it something to do with UUIDs of HD - MBR didnt need that information for my knowledge.

Anyone cloned (not installed direct to GUID) an OS X Leo from MBR HD to GUID HD and give hints whats wrong ?

EDIT: I now repartitioned new HD with MBR, cloned and prepaired like before with GUID.

All Apps run now !!!!

WHATS THAT with MBR > GUID cloning problem ?!

Thanks

I used CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner, latest version, second try with superdouper).

I tried a lot of apps, Systemapps like Systemprofiler, Systempreferences also Textedit or Tools like ONXY. No app runs. All crashed, mostly with some apple securty thread.

Because using partition cloning (not HD cloning within all Partitiontabels) MBR Table will not be cloned, whats OK.

I think perhaps its an difference if someone installed OS X on an fresh partitioned GUID HD and cloning working OS X from MBR to GUID ?

I have seen, at least for using RAID+GUID that it is an must do to add UUID of HD into boot.plist.

Had someone cloned an fresh GUID HD with an OS X from other HD (MBR) and got that running ?
