Dellius
My Hackintosh Fails to boot. When I attempt to boot under OS X, I get stuck at the Starting Mac OS X screen for a while and then the console shows up instead of the GUI. I get prompted for a user name and password and no matter what I enter, I get a password incorrect error. Should I choose to just wait without doing anything, here is what messages I receive. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions. kextd[27]: giving up on diskarb; auto-rebuild disabled. Dellius
Help me, please. I have important files on that partition. Tell me please, how to export my Safari bookmarks and settings at the least. I can access the partition from my Windows XP installation and I can read and write files on it. verdant
Help me, please. Try this procedure from tejinashi to reset your user password 1. Boot into single user mode with -s 2. Type fsck -fy 3. Type mount -uw / 4. Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist 5. Type dscl . -passwd /Users/username password, replacing username with the targeted user and password with the desired password. 6. Type exit This allows you to reset the password in single user mode without booting from the install DVD.
