Leopard 10.5.4 working fine. No problems there. Booting back into Windows, when the SATA mode is IDE, no longer works - even though it used to before I started all this :smoke:

I switch my SATA mode back to IDE, like it was originally. Unplug all the hard-drives except the Windows one. And make sure its the first boot device. Gives me two lines when it boots:

Boot0: MBR

Boot0: Done

And just hangs there. I have no idea why! Hardware configuration has only changed in so far as I've changed the graphic card.

Any ideas?

if your running XP, it wont support you installing windows in IDE then changing to AHCI, therefore, you need to reinstall XP. But if your on Vista, boot up in IDE mode in bios, install the AHCI drivers for your motherboard sata controlelrs and then do the following:

1. Exit all Windows-based programs.

2. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

3. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci

5. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.

6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.

7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

restart in AHCO mode and vista should work fine.

Solved it!!

Formatted the Windows disc, turned it into two Mac HFS+ partitions, and promised never to use Windows on this machine again!

:P:D :D

Sorry, I know that's not the answer that people researching this topic will be looking for. But I really don't intend to use Windows anymore.
