quixos
i heard that it wouldn't really be allowed to bring up certain files neccesary to make a useful post. but Jas has a ppf that does the job. then i heard something else again, so i did it. i guess i'll know soon enough. cyclonefr
well in my case i've sucessfully installed new kext for RADEON copying the ATI RADEON9700.kext but a big but u cannot use the 10.4.6 RADEON GA driver.kext else u have a black screen with the mouse cursor running... i assume they've added a protection linked with the drivers and EFI or the rest of the patch...which wasnt the case for 10.4.4 on 10.4.3 hummm having new extensions is sthg nice for improvments of video drivers. Maybe applying the 10.4.6 patch and then the MAXXUSS 10.4.5 workaround can work didnt try that but im not sure. Let's wait for the big boss to come and fix that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13941-1046-manual-update/#findComment-88650 Share on other sites

jpolster2005
is there any reason if you have a perfectly working "hackintosh" to do an update that might break something? I've never done software updates unless they were REQUIRED to be installed for running a certain program. so unless a software suite you want to install is asking for 10.4.6 (and in the past its been rare that ive seen an update be required), why not just enjoy your system? fireshark
Because it fixes things. Do you still run Windows XP RTM from 2001 with no patches? I thought not. jpolster2005
but in our case, unless maxxuss tests it first, it may "break" things. and by the way the only Windows Machine in my home is my homebuilt Media Center 2005 machine..... very cool by the way, and i do updates regularly on it cause i know that Microsoft isnt out to hurt my machine. apple doesnt want os X running on my DC 5100 from HP (which by the way is AWESOME!) quixos
maxxuss isn't our personal beta tester. as far as i know, he doesn't even have a gma900/915 to get/keep working, he does his work in vmware. tonight i'll be adding the remainder of the working Frameworks, hopefully i'll get something in the Genius Bar for a quick fix for us gma900/915 users. dponmac
Because it fixes things. Do you still run Windows XP RTM from 2001 with no patches? I thought not. yeah but i dont really think OS X has that much problems where you have to be patching every month.. maybe thats just my wishful thinking.
