Hey guys... You'll have to forgive me as I'm new to this. I've been looking into this OSX86 project now for quite some time and would like to know if it's possible with my system. Here it is:

---AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice)

---DFI Lanparty UT-nf4 Ultra-D

---(using on-board sound)

---(using on-board NIC Card) (Marvel Yukon and Nvidia)

---ATI Radeon X800GTO (256MB)

---Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB HDD (Partitioned and ready to install)

---Liteon sohw 1693s

I just want to know if anyone has a similar system and has had success in installing. Anyways... let me know what you think (compatibility problems etc... ). Oh and I hear a rumour that you need to install on a completely different hard drive and that you can't install on a partitioned drive... is there any truth to that.

Luke

Thanks for replying... yeah, it's a SATA HD

You're gonna have problems then. The nForce SATA isn't supported (well, there's patches, but you need an existing install of OS X to do it)

Only one of your LAN cards will work (The Marvell Yukkon one) as, once again, nForce LAN isn't supported so well.

Graphics, if the GTO is anything like my GT, you're gonna have troubles. I haven't been able to find a driver/kext/extention for it. :D No CI or QE :(

Hey Black Flame... have you tried this for your ATI Graphics card????

Let me know what you think...

Luke

I thought the ATI cards where a work in progress? I know there is patch to stop the freezing and such but none so far that enable 9800 or AGP to support core/quart or beter resolutions than 1024x768.

Am I mistaken? :P

What about the ATI PCI-Express cards... have there been known problems with those? Apple uses ATI cards for some of their systems. You'd think that there wouldn't be a problem (or not that big of a problem) with the ATI cards at least.

Let me know what you think...

Luke
