Mixed
Hi guys, I'm having some troubles trying to install OS X on my machine. See the tech specs in my signature. First is that I've tried to install the retail (have the h-mxl1054.dmg image burned on a dual-layer dvd), using the boot-132 thing. On short, it doesn't work I did exactly what is said on the thread, tried with BOOT-KABYL-BUMBY iso and the generic iso, and the booting stops (freeze) at some point. So I tried another approach, by installing Kalyway 10.5.2. But there is another issue, and it's about the hard disc. I wanted to install Kalyway on my 500Gb seagate HDD, but it only see it as a 128Gb!?!? Searched for some answers around but find nothing clear. So, I've installed it in my 120Gb Maxtor and I'm looking for a solution to make it see my hdd at true capacity. Any ideas, please? Mixed
Come on, there is no one who knows what's wrong, why do I see only 128Gb out of 500Gb? hecker
I fixed the 128GB problem by enabling ACPI in the BIOS. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138557-128gb-hdd-problem-boot-132-issues/#findComment-981674 Share on other sites

Mixed
Thank you guys for the hints! But... - enabling AHCI in bios could not boot the Kalyway from the hdd. It just does nothing... - enabling AHCI and booting from the Kalyway installation DVD, made it possible to see the 500Gb in Disk Utility and I was able to make a 120Gb partition and another one for the rest of the drive. - disabling AHCI and booting into macos, didn't show me the 500Gb at all! - Attnck, I've read your instructions but unfortunately I don't have another Mac at my disposal. But I've got the ATA Hi-Cap Driver, installed it but nothing happened. I can't see my 500Gb drive at all, neither in Disk Utility. - with AHCI enabled and a version of boot-132 iso, I've managed to boot my retail copy of macos 10.5.4 but it's getting stuck at some point. I suspect that this is related to the video card I have, a geforce 9600 (see my sig), and the freeze comes in the moment it tries to start the graphical interface for the installation. So... I'm kind stuck and out of options.. Maybe I should try to "insert" the video card kexts from the Kalyway into the image of the retail dvd and burn it again, but I'm not sure how to do that and exactly what kexts I should put there...
