Vista 5270 is an old beta version of the next version of Windows (current versions are over 53xx). Unless you have an MSDN, MS Connect, or MS beta tester account you can't download it legally.

as for installation, just boot from the DVD and it installs on PCs.

how can I get the account you mentioned, or where can I download the newest version? (if you can't tell me the site here please PM me?

not good advice but... you could always just download it via edonkey / torrent / or limewire [any p2p software may find it].

But I do warn you, I just installed Vista Beta 2 [build 5308] and although it looks nice and has some ok features really... MS has taken all the things in XP that are easy to use and find [mostly properties/system/administration tasks] and made them hard to find and even harder to change [what used to take 2 steps now takes 5-6].

I use macs at work and pc's at home so for the first time in years OSX has the upper hand [which is something I NEVER thought I would be saying], all I hope for now is that osx gets a full pc-based release and that most software vendors release universal versions of their software [just like apple did with Final Cut Pro 5.1 - it now runs on both apple and pc based systems].

Save yourself the trouble.
