lenovo SL-series loock good on paper,...

decided against it,.... ( do have an lenovo now,.... everything but throttle working, R60)

- only the SL have the nvidia option,.... the T,R have ati,.. not working currently,.... and the nvs quadro,.. never worked

- the SL build quality is lower,.... no LED option for SL400 SL500

- it comes with new wifi cards,... all untested, and to get one working it has to be approved by bios,...

and has to be a lenovo brand,... does not have multibay support,....

there is more support for dell on this forum,.... so the E-series looks good for now, for gaming even the M-series,...

but at that pirce point, might as well get a M pro,...

would have gotten the new alu pro 15", if the fans where not running all the time,...

so I'll give it one more hack. build your own desktop, is ok, you can change about everything out,.... on laptops, is too much hassle,...

and almost everything working does not cut it,.... how many times heard, yeah, got everything working but, wifi, sound,...

never mind, basics, sleep/wake,shutdown, cpu throttle, battery time, webcam, ethernet port,...and 50 other things,...

think the 9300m, should work,.. thought it only has 8 stream processors, aka 16 for the 9400M,

I found a guy installed ideneb v1.3 leopard10.5.5 on thinkpad sl400, here is what he got:

[CPU: T5670 1.8G] Only 1 core is recognized.

[Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS] working with both QE/CI enabled.

[Audio: Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controlle] Only ouput works

[Network: RTL8168C/8111C] Works out of box.

[Wireless: Intel 4965AGN] Not mentioned.

There is one big problem, the startup will take like 6 minutes long! Hope some one could work on this:)

SL-series ultrabay compatible ??

can anybody check, or try, if a sata ultrabay fits in the SL-series ?

since I need extra disk space,.... like my 1st as ssd,...

the SL400 be a nice consideration,... since you can get a higher rez and non-glossy screen,...

otherwise the new alu mac be dandy ,.... thought no ultrabay eather ,...

The same guy also posted an update to his experiment after re-install IATKOS i5 10.5.5 (then update to 10.5.6)

Now both cores have been recognized. Wifi's problem (AR5006X) and sound In/out cannot be fixed (output through on board speaker only).
