I have windows xp on the 1st primary (active) and mac os x 10.4.3 on the next primary(at the end of the disk). I used chain0 to boot the os. When i choose windows xp, it works fine, but when i choose os x it gets into windows xp,but when i press F8,after selecting osx, it shows the menu and i have choose from there to boot osx. How to get rid of this problem by making osx as my default booting when i choose osx menu via chain0 prog.

Go to the wiki and look for editing the boot.plist. Also why are you still using the out dated chain0 boot loader when you can use xloader to boot to xp and Mac? Atomsk i right, look where you are posting before starting a thread. I know it's confusing at times, but do be considerate by not confusing members that have a real Mac.

still wrong forum section but whatever.

xloader is the bootloader for os x / darwin

google "xloader bootloader" instead.

and you are using the chain0 and xloader. you are getting the xp boot menu first, which gives you both, then when you select os x you are getting the xloader which also wants to know what you want to boot if I am understanding you correctly. personally i prefer just xloader, but chain0 is fine too... just need to edit your boot.plist as suggested (change the timeout, tell it what to boot, etc) or deal with having to hit your selection twice. :)

try searching for answers and they are there. i promise.

now can we get an admin to move this? :)
