axhi
I installed and it all went well, after the install when I went to boot it makes the black screen w/ the loading and then it just restarts, over and over and over and over again. AMD Phenom 9850 Biostar TA790gx 4gb Ram When I go into my system profiler it also says that I only have 1 core. If this is any help. Like I said, install went fine and then on reboot was just restarting. Please help! Thanks in advance! Gujal
Which kernel did you select during the install? It wont work with Vanilla 9.2.0, you have to choose one of the other kernels such as netkas, modbin, toh, etc Also once you get it to boot correctly with the alternate kernel, you need to download Zef's Chameleon installer and install it so that it overwrites the Darwin bootloader installed by Kalyway 10.5.2. Zef's bootloader is must for Phenom CPU multi core support Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135595-problem-after-install/#findComment-960841 Share on other sites
axhi
Gujal - I didn't select Vanilla so I'm trying other kernels. One at a time im assuming as well, right? I also selected one of the AMD support patches. gujal - also, that bootloader, thats after the os is installed and I actually have it running? Gujal
Yes bootloader is after you get it running. Until then if it gives issues, boot with cpus=1 at the Darwin bootloader prompt.
