typera
Thanks for the driver, I tried it and got the following error: 18ApplePS2Controller is not compatible with its superclass, 9IOService superclass changed? I am using it on 10.4.5 on Sony VGN-T2XP (aka VGN-T250P) Has anyone come across this issue? EDIT: Seems like people have had similar problems and worked around them by recompiling the source. If anyone has done that to the ApplePS2Keyboard kext under 10.4.5 could you please post it here? grentz
well, i hooked up my mac ide drive as normal, and it wouldnt boot (the bios kept skipping it). Now I ran the setup again and it sees it in the disc utility, but it says input/output error when i try to partition or erase it....so it looks like there is a major problem now edit, o boy, looks like the problem was that the ide cable is bad....i am just having such good luck with this Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-86609 Share on other sites

grentz
ok, do i have to burn them in a special way? I am using roxio, with UDF (if i choose iso9660 it wants to shorten all the folder names so it would not be setup correctly) with a ISO9660 BRIDGE also, those other 3 you posted, the files are all differently named than any of the other kext ones i have seen, what do i do with those to try them? thanks again for all your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-86685 Share on other sites
FullMetal
Scratch that last post. What you shoud type is mountd /dev/disk1 /mount/appleps2. As for the kext files I found them on the opendarwin site, and I don't see anything different about them. Have you Un-Tared/Gzipped them? I only looked at the PS2controller kext not the others. They haven't been built yet, and I've no idea how to do that. I'll try to get the kext from the 10.4.3 install DVD. I have that on a cd as well, but i am still having trouble with mounting and getting it copied over That's one that I found on a blog that was compiled from the 10.4.3 source. I saw earlier that you tried this Install DVD on a different system and it didn't work there also. Have you tried re-burning the disk? Do you have another HD lying around. If so stick it in the nearest computer, format it with a FAT32 filsystem, drop all of the files in there, stick it in your Hackintosh and it should auto-mount. yes, i think they are, but here is my issue, i cant even figure out how to mount the darn thing to try it outI have the one good ones you sent me on the cd, i just cant figure out how to get it copied over. grentz
i think it was just incompatible in the other machine. The installer worked but the actually tiger was incompatible i believe. I copied the files over with transmac and now when i tried to boot i get the gray sign with a line through it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-86712 Share on other sites

grentz
I think after looking around some more the problem is my mainboard...since it is a Via Chipset and not really a name brand, i think it just differs to much to work well. I dont want to say I am giving up, but after 2 almost full days at this, I think I need to throw in the towel. Thank you so much for your help and time FullMetal, I am good with PCs, but Mac is new to me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-86789 Share on other sites

dripple
Take a look at the board, if there are issues with keyboards and mices, they apear not with the 10.4.3. So there must be a major difference between both versions. I have an 10.4.3 running, including a VIA-chipset, and everything is fine, including USB and PS/2 (Mouse and keyboard) dripple Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-87499 Share on other sites
grentz
Ok, I got 10.4.3 and it works great, I can use USB, PS2, or both! There must just be support for these devices missing in 10.4.4/5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13509-keyboard-and-mouse-problem/page/2/#findComment-87942 Share on other sites
