pedro_sandchez
hey guys, I recently saw where MSI is going to be releasing a core duo barebones laptop. Here is a link http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/product_spec.asp?model=MS-1057 It uses the core duo and is based on the 945 chipset. Anyone have any idea based on the specs as to how difficult it would be to run osx86 on it? I really want a new ultraportable laptop and building one up like this seems like something I would really like doing. thanks, Adam Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13496-core-duo-laptopwould-i-be-able-to-get-osx86-running-on-this/ Share on other sites

gooki
It'll probably run fine, but you may/may not get full hardware support like wifi, sound, networking etc. Worst case scenario with the core duo's is you just disable one core in the bios and osx86 runs just fine. Zappadoc
the most common issue is that you have to deactivate multicore (bios setting) to get the os x installer working... z Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13496-core-duo-laptopwould-i-be-able-to-get-osx86-running-on-this/#findComment-86666 Share on other sites
