jesusaveme
I have tried to install 10.4.5 on my computer many times using different methods, but always get ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM (cannot boot) after completing 10.4.5 installation using mac.osx.10.4.5.universal.install.dvd(intel_amd_sse3_sse2).iso and MacOSX_10.4.4DVDPATCHED_Myz.iso But when I install 10.4.4, I have no problem at all. Everything works perfectly even the ethernet. Anyway, I have a hard drive with 3 partitions: 1 primary partition for Windows XP SP2 ( NTFS ), 1 logical partition for data, 1 primary partition for Mac OS X. I also have 1 portable hard drive ( Fat 32 ) for backing up Mac OS X files. My PC specification is Intel Pentium 4 630 (SSE3) Gigabyte 81945P-G 512 Mb Corsair PC4300 (266 Mhz) NVidia GEForce 6600 Lite On DVDRW SHW 1635S 120 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda ST3120813AS Realtek RTL8169 Family Gigabit Ethernet Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13475-error-loading-operating-system-post-1045-installation-using-macosx1045universalinstalldvdintel_amd_sse3_sse2iso-and-macosx_1044dvdpatche/ Share on other sites
xtraa
But when I install 10.4.4, I have no problem at all. Everything works perfectly even the ethernet. Hi, in that case I would keep things simple, and patch it manually as shown in the HowTo on Maxxuss websites. Means: - Install the patched 10.4.4. (working, as you said) - download the 10.4.5 sec update from Apples website as linked on maxxuss page - download maxxuss patches and follow the instructions Could be a bad release, or maybe something went wrong with the bootloader etc. I appreciate these prepatched DVDs and most of them are working like a charme, but if not, you can easily do it on your own, too. jesusaveme
To be honest, I found Maxxuss instruction to be quite difficult to follow as I am a pretty low tech guy. I've tried his instruction before ( with 10.4.1 ) but I end up making Mac OS X unbootable. I've read in a PC tech support forum and it seems that some Gigabyte motherboard occassionaly encounter this ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM. They suggest playing with Bios, but haven't tried it yet. Have you tried installing 10.4.4 and once that one is installed upgrade using the myzar DVD? I upgraded from a 10.4.3 to 10.4.5 and it worked fine. cmoski
jesusaveme, Your probably is most likely with the IDE drivers. Try loading the old 10.4.3 IDE drivers, as 10.4.4 probably doesn't have IDE drivers which properly support your IOATAFamily. Plus, you are emulating SATA through IDE. Thanks! cmoski Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13475-error-loading-operating-system-post-1045-installation-using-macosx1045universalinstalldvdintel_amd_sse3_sse2iso-and-macosx_1044dvdpatche/#findComment-86214 Share on other sites
