Have a Hewlett Packard Pavillion dv6567cl running 10.5.2 (i believe kalyway).

Everything working, sound, all usb/firewire, and wireless via a belkin usb adapter. The only thing that doesn't work is the dvd drive. this is all the info i have on the drive:

hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t2ol

The drive doesn't show at all in About This Mac, or I'd get a device and vendor id. I installed Leo from this drive, and the Disk Utility in the installer showed the DVD drive.

Any suggestions?

Thanks! :P

Im having the same problem. The machine isnt recognizing my DVD drive at all, not showing up in System Profiler.

My machine is a Lenovo T61, and I have installed iDeneb v.1.3 10.5.5. After a rocky install (Couldnt boot except in Safe Mode..) this is the only problem that I have now that I cant live with. My wired network works, wireless doesnt work at all (Intel 4965agn), video (NVidia NVS 140m) doesn't work all the way, but was at least able to change the resolution..

Looking around the forums some, I see that there are quite a few that seem to be having a problem with iDeneb 1.3 seeing DVD drives.. But I havent seen any fixes..

EDIT:

I rebooted the machine off the install DVD, and went into the System Profiler, and it can see the DVD Drive under the ATA Device Tree:

Optiarc DVD RW AD-7910A

Im trying a re-install right now. Lets see what happens...

EDIT #2:

After reinstall, I can now mount DVDs. Not sure what changed.. Didnt install any other options..
