Maxintosh
Apples market share is growing by leaps and bounds. According to Apples C.O.O. Apple’s most recently reported *quarter* showed sales of 2.5 million Mac systems. "Apple's share of the market now represents 17.6 percent of unit sales in U.S. retail. And if you look at revenue share (because we focus on fully-featured systems and we don’t compromise on quality) our revenue share is 31.3 percent. That means one out of every three dollars spent on computers in U.S. retail is spent on the Macintosh." "Apple has surpassed Dell to become the top-selling provider of notebooks in education with a 39 percent share of the market." While this is good news, IMO it will be short lived. Not as many people are buying new Macs because of the whole "Firewire deletion" issue. Hopefully Apple won't be stubborn and add Firewire where it belongs, on all of their machines. krrr
Apple will need to do a U-Turn and release net-books in 2009 , they cant stick to this High Priced premium model with US Economy Tanking. its not even like they have Big presence in Emerging markets like INDIA China , i think there are only 2-3 Reseller in WHOLE india which has 1 billion + population ( 250+ Million population in Brand spending market ) and not a Single APPLE-STORE , yes not a single one in India, there is only 1 repair center for WHOLE India (bangalore) imaging sending your mac back and forth to Bangalore hundreds of miles if it breaks (even if it doesnt break often). Apple will soon need to get down the high-horse. look what they did in USA with 200 Dollar iPhone (and they killed the idea in india by reselling it via networks for US$ 800 + .. thats like WTF man ). Maxintosh
And it is a wonder why most American's are in debt... ...probably because they impulse buy, especially when it comes to food Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/134601-macs-market-share-is-growing-again/#findComment-954240 Share on other sites
SDRacer48
...probably because they impulse buy, especially when it comes to food Actually, that is only part of it. American's impulse buy with everything. They buy stuff they don't need (i.e. a college student buying a $1400 MacBook when their classes require programs that are Windows only) and can't afford (I love my credit card with the 22.9% interest rate! Yippee!). Then they blame the government that they are in debt. What morons! Sometimes, ignorance is not bliss...
