I really wanna try Osx86 on my pc, and i've been reading as much as i can in the forums and the wiki, but i'm still confused. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 :):) and I haven' t

done much to it. I have a 120gb hard drive, a dvd burner, and a gig of memory, but that's it as far as upgrades. Can anyone help me with the things i need to get so osx

can run smooth? I'll post whatever hardware info needed so someone can give me a little advice.

Processor: intel pentium 4 2.4 Ghz HT (it can handle sse and sse2)

Video card: nVidia GeForce FX 5200

Audio card: Creative SoundBlaster Live! Series 5.1 Sound Card

I have a cable modem thru a router, a wireless pci card, and the modem's in the next room.

I think i need a new motherboard, cuz the mini-tower case i want has USB, sound and firewire ports above the disk drives, but my stock dell motherboard routes the

ports through the bottom front of the case, under the power button.

I upgraded from like 512 megs of ram to a gig, but one stick (256) isn't reading, so it says it's at 768. (i gotta clean the case/motherboard)

My computer has the wireless card, but i can use a straight cable from my modem if necessary

sounds good. I would reccomend using 10.4.3 prepatched. im afraid i cant link to torrents here. check out the wiki for install details. you cant use Rosetta because you have only SSE2. Rosetta is the emulating program that lets you use PPC programs.

i think i already have it, but i gotta check it to see if it's the right one and if it'll work. i got a 10.4.3 and a 10.4.4, since i kept hearing about the different revisions. so now i have two questions:

1. will my sound/graphics card work?

2. since i plan on upgrading my hardware, what stuff should i keep, and what should i buy? (new motherboard, video/sound card)
