raysmd
So, I've got my winxp NTFS partitions all setup just the way I like it. I left some empty space for a new HFS partition, but when I used OSX Disk Utility to try and partition that empy space it says that my other two NTFS volumes will be formatted also. What gives? Will those partitions be left alone? firewolf
Yes, it will remove all other partitions. Use other partitioning software. milesce
In windows xp, use diskpart to partition your mac partition: diskpart select disk 0 create partition primary id=af That will create a nonformatted partition Then, when you load osx setup, use disk utility to erase that volume. Dont type a name for the volume in at this point, just erase it. You can then install osx on that partition. -TiLT-
Create a primary partition on the free space with eXtended fdisk and change its type to AF. Diskutil sometimes creates partitions with wrong geometry what can cause partition magic to call an error #116 or #105. eXtended fdisk has got a nice bootmanager as well. Its worth a try.
