joshawa
When trying to boot into OS X today I was greeted with a black screen and blinking cursor. Just yesterday I was able to boot into OS X with no problems. I have Leopard installed on an external usb hard drive with BIOS set to boot from "USB Memory" when available. Until now this has created a reliable dual boot system, with Vista on my internal hd. I've tried repairing permissions and repairing the disk from disk utilities on the Leo4Allv3 installation disk and had no problems, but it didn't fix anything. The only thing I did different recently was to reformat the back half of my external drive, but even after that I was still able to boot into OS X yesterday evening. If anyone has any ideas, please help. I really don't want to have to reinstall everything. Thank you.
MacNutty
Have you tried reinstalling boot loader and making your partition active?
splonk
I have a similar problem. How do you go about reinstalling the bootloader and making it active?
joshawa
I'll search through the forums tonight to find the answer to this, but I also don't know how to reinstall the bootloader or to make the partition active.
