phor2zero
I'm not sure what I did to cause this, but Disk Utility can no longer repair disk permissions. I'm using 10.4.5, it's working just fine for me, but I've been installing/uninstalling the new Nvidia drivers, (which now work quite well for me). When I select my root disk and click on "Repair Disk Permissions" I get a pop up error that says: Disk Utility internal error Disk Utility has lost its connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue. Please quit and relaunch Disk Utility. I am booting 10.4.5 natively and also in VMWare. I also have a 10.4.3 VMWare system that can see the 10.4.5 disk. In other words, I can use 10.4.3 to repair the permissions on my 10.4.5 system, but I'm not sure if that's very wise to do. Everything is working fine, so I suppose I don't "need" to repair disk permissions, but I would certainly like the ability to. Any ideas to solve this? I had this exact same problem after installing the 2006-002-Intel-Update. I had to follow Maxxuss' instructions for following the 2006-001 installation. http://www.maxxuss.org/patch_8g1454.html#secupdate Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13113-cant-repair-permissions-anymore/#findComment-83372 Share on other sites

errandwolfe
Having the same problem on my AMD system. Seeing as the link to maxxuss' info is down, could someone please PM me the instructions, a big help would be the Bom.framework file as this seems to be the own causing the issue. If anyone has a working copy of that file I would really appreciate it if you could send.
