modis Posted October 9, 2008 Share Posted October 9, 2008 hello Basically right now I own a 15 inch powerbook, looking to get something faster and for some games. here is the configuration i came up with but is missing a video card. Envying Posted October 10, 2008 Share Posted October 10, 2008 I would suggest a Gigabyte P45 mobo, not ASUS P5Q. Because you will need a mod bios for P5Q to get rid of CPUS=1... modis Posted October 11, 2008 Author Share Posted October 11, 2008 ^ thanks here is my revised build motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS3L or Gigabyte EP45-DS3R cpu: Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo ram:GSKILL 4gb F2-6400 video card: I've found a asus 8800GS 384mb on sale so i'm going to get that. dvd drive:Pioneer DVR-216DBK hdd:Seagate 7200.11 640gb case:Antec Sonata 500 White w/ PSU other: two 92mm fans for the front of the case. like i said before computer will be used for a general purpose computer and for gaming. which motherboard should I go with? Other than that, anything I should be aware of before I go ahead and purchase?
