modis
hello Basically right now I own a 15 inch powerbook, looking to get something faster and for some games. here is the configuration i came up with but is missing a video card. Please let me know if all the parts should work ok and what video card you guys would recommend to go along with it, I'm leaning towards a 8800gt. my basic questions for now are: - are my hardware choices compatible with osx86? - is anything over or underspeced (sticks out from the bunch)? - what changes would you make? thanks
modis
any thoughts about my config?
Envying
I would suggest a Gigabyte P45 mobo, not ASUS P5Q. Because you will need a mod bios for P5Q to get rid of CPUS=1...

Go with the DS3R....and i'd suggest the 8800GT for better performance
modis
ok so i've just about finalized my order. going to go with the ds3r and a q6600 processor as it's only $18 more than the duo core i had selected. i think i'm going to go with the 8800gs just because it's $50 after $30 MIR, and I will upgrade it when I can find a higher performance card for ~$100. any objections before i go for it? thank you very much for the replies
