Elfenlyte
I am wondering about what to get: Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz Q6600 or Core 2 Quad 2.66 Ghz Q6700 Would there be a large difference if I wanted to overclock it? Provided with the right cooling, could I both OC them equally or would the Q6600 always run a bit hotter or slower because it's factory speed is slower. thank you. Korrupted
I'm no expert, but the Q6700 would probably overclock just slightly better, but really it depends on the individual CPU chip you get; even if that particular model is reported as OCing really high yours might not go very high at all. But if you want my opinion, go for the 6600 as it's cheaper.
Elfenlyte
Thank you. And the 6700 is compatible?
mic.mac.hack
Pretty much any CPU from Family 6 is compatible with Vanilla Kernel, that means all of your Pentium Dual Cores, Core 2 Duos and Core 2 Quads are compatible.
