Renegade
Hi, I recently installed 10.4.5 user Myzar patched DVD. One installation is completed, it won't boot from HD. it says System config file '/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found The mobo used is an Asrock P4S61 (SIS661fx chipset). P4 2.6 GHz, 120 GB HDD (Primary Master) Nec 3520a DVDRW Drive (Primary Slave), 2*512 MB DDR RAM, onboard graphics. Thanks, R. Renegade
I forgot to say that this installation works with another mobo (older, VIA based and not supporting my CPU at full speed). Can't figure out why. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13009-asrock-p4s61-wont-boot-sis661fx/#findComment-92644 Share on other sites
rhodar
sorry for such a late reply, i have the msi 661fx, and have the same problem, i think it is due to the lack of driver support for the southbridge chipset which controls the IDE cntroller. You can boot with the dvd, then press f8 then type rd=disk0s2 (if first hard disk) that will get you in to macosx. Now there are a couple options you can do, one buy a motherboard with a via r intel chipset (which is what i did, bought an intel 848p {intel having more driver support}) or you could code your own drivers, possibly using darwins source (dont realy know anything about this, so i am only going on what i have read), or you could try and find some other way to get it to work.. i know mine booted with the 10.4.1 developers kit deadmoo image, so either 10.4.1 or 10.4.3 might work, possibly will need some modifications. Hope that helps you Rhodar P.s I appologise if any information is false as i am jst going from what i both learnt with experience and by reading these forums. Best of luck anyway, PM me if you get it working, because i still have the msi motherboard lying around.
