B612
if we want to change the displayed version of MAC OS. For instance, now I have 10.4.5, but I want my Install DVD to believe I have 10.4.3, so that I can upgrade to a clean 10.4.5 version. I hope I was clear, this time. I hope also (VERY MUCH) that you know the system file to edit! Thank you for your consideration and support! jrrjrr
Go to: /System/Library/CoreServices Edit: SystemVersion.plist There are 2 instances in it of 10.4.x and one of 8Gxxxx. Dynamite
There's another way to do what you want to do: When selecting the hard disk to install to, on the lower left corner there should be an "options" Button. In there choose to move the old system to "previous systems" and that's it! you'll install a clean 10.4.5 and your older system folder and library will be kept just in case you had something in there!
