Well I tried everything from messing with the bios and kexts however I was unable to get working together my USB mouse and PS2 keyboard so I had to start using an old and stinky PS2 mouse, but I hated it so much so I used to unplug it every time I needed go back to Windows and plugged back my nice USB optical mouse.

But today I pluged the PS2 and forgot to unplug the USB one when started OSX and guess what... both of them are working, plus my PS2 keyboard!! Yup, no kidding, I can move and use both the PS2 and the USB mouse, and I'm typing from my PS2 keyboard.

Unbelievable, but if you had the same problem you may want to give this a try.

This could probably be integrated into a software solution, where a dummy ps2 mouse was always active pointing to /dev/null. Then usb mice would work fine.

That being said, I have a usb mouse(intelieye microsoft mouse-go figure) and a logitech ps2 keyboard, which worked without any flaws.

@mikesown,

Can you please explain your solution a bit further? Better yet, can you please tell me where and what file/s to edit? I mounted my OSX partition in vmware OSX install and I can manipulate the files in the native install from vmware. I just need to know what files to edit since you say you have your USB mouse and ps2 kb working.

Thanks

I, too, experienced problems using a PS/2 keyboard with a USB mouse. My mouse would work buy my keyboard would not. Taking a tip from another thread I plugged in an old PS/2 mouse I had laying around and rebooted. After the reboot the PS2 Keyboard, teh PS2 Mouse, and the USB Mouse all work.. I just let the PS2 mouse sit to the side (it's an old Alps glidepoint actually, so it hides rather easily).
