Lord Norr
I just tried Leo4All with the following settings. Old Nforce Driver VIA AMD Patch Now when I try to start I don't get a panic or a root device error. It just hangs after a few seconds. I will give it one final go on different settings. But then I'm all out of ideas. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-909466 Share on other sites
BTheMad
Well...I did it. I installed iDeneb 10.5.5 on AMD nForce =) Here's the config: AMD Athlon 3800+ ASUS M2NPV-VM onBoardVideo nVidia 6150 onBoardAudio IDE HDD WD 160GB That was a tricky one. 0) I installed with old sleepkernel 9.2, AMD patch and apple 2-channel audio. No video/network drivers. 1) First of all system didn't want to boot. I used "-x -v" to be in a safe mode and to see the boot process. And of course, there was no network and resolution was 1024x768. 2) Then i did a trick with forcedeath.kext and nForceEthernetController.kext to get online =) (trick was found somewhere on this forum) 3) System still need "-x" to boot. 4) I did the trick with MacVidia 1.0.81 (found on this forum too) 5) This time the boot was clear. No SafeMode. And high resolution like a plus. Thanks to iDeneb Team for this magic release BTheMad Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-910103 Share on other sites
Lord Norr
Ok. I rebooted and tried it with Old Nforce Driver VIA AMD Patch Now it hangs. As you can see in the screenshot, I cant see any reason why it doesnt work. Anyone have any idea? The HD activity LED just stays on and nothing happens. I would try another combination of drivers but that would just get me deeper in a pickle I'm sure. MGJulius
Hey, Well it should say after that "Jettosoning Kernel Linker" but in your case it is not. What kernel do you have installed? Lord Norr
9.4 Vanilla. I'm quite puzzled. I've managed to setup dual boot with xp to make posting problems easier so thats not bad. But I would love to get this to work. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-910657 Share on other sites

MGJulius
Hey, You cannot use vanilla kernels on an AMD rig. Use the 9.4 Modbin kernel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-910977 Share on other sites

MGJulius
Hey, a few quick questions 1) Does it reboot instantaneously after you leave the darwin screen or when does it reboot. 2) Have you tried installing it without the VIA chipset driver Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-911175 Share on other sites
Lord Norr
Within about 1 second of booting my computer resets. In regards to VIA, no I havent. I tried it without it with the iDeneb build and that kept resetting. So I used it and it didnt reset. But with this build, Leo4All it still resets. I shall try it without the VIA. I will also try the last remaining Nforce option. See how that goes. MGJulius
I would suggest downloading OSX86 tools and adding the hex string for your card to the apple.com.boot.plist Works great w/ my 8600GT Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-912542 Share on other sites

MGJulius
@Viktor Krot You need to reinstall the chameleon, download it from their site. You can still boot from the disc too, put the dvd drive into the slot and let the time run out...then it will boot (assuming the mac partition is the active one) Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-913164 Share on other sites
dazsalt
I've just completed my second download of 10.5.5 (ideneb 1.3) and both downloads fail the MD5 checksum. Does anyone know if this has been compromised or corrupted ? I normally rely on Azureus (Vuze) to give me a good download, but on both trackers I've tried I get a duff download (the ISO burns OK but the install fails with a "dirty disc" error). The MD5 should be 79af2c037b48e976d9f51839ec009bb5, but on both of the downloads the are EAF41EB1983494468640B877FF18D77D, so no good. Interesting that both the downloads have the same hash, so it's definitely not just a "one off". Has anyone any ideas ? Or perhaps a "clue" (wink wink) as to a search I can use to get a reliable download ? Daz. icefury
I have same problem as dcshoeco16 but different hardware. It either hangs on grey screen with apple logo + small white no "no smoking" sign or blue screen just before login window. I can get in with -x but no idea what would be causing it. GA-P35C-DS3R Mobo Intel E6550 Ati HD3870 4gt 800mhz g-skill 2 sata drives + 1 ide Samsung Sata dvd-rw On this laptop ideneb let me get to choosing country/language and then just looped between those so i just put this 10.5.2 leo4all back to browse forums for solutions. Leo4allv2 10.5.2 works on my main comp. I think i keep it if 10.5.5 doesnt offer anything major updates or security updates i must have. I just dont know . So i am still trying to figure out wich things to choose when installing to get that ideneb 10.5.5 working Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128311-ideneb-v13-1055-problems/page/2/#findComment-925021 Share on other sites
