Can I putt the missing file(s) back to it?Any ides? Hi. I have had a similar situation with the same DVD. In my case my language is Italian, but I only had English. I think it depends on the fact that they took some files off from the install DVD in order to make it fit in a single layer DVD. In fact, this problem started with the 10.4.4 version of Tiger, and not with the previous one. So in my case, I had to install 10.4.3 first and then update to 10.4.5 through the Myzar DVD. I hope I could help. Let me know. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12756-language-chooser/#findComment-80757 Share on other sites
calmesal
Ye thats true! But it must be away to find the missing file and put it back. I have patched the restore DVD with the PatchIt script I found non the net, and I cant see that it removing any athor files than Xcode to freeup space to fit on single DVD. I would very much like to know what are these files? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12756-language-chooser/#findComment-80777 Share on other sites

B612
Well, I did exactly the same thing as you suggest (I am Italian, too), but it didn't work. After I went to Apple Menu\Preference\International and set my language to Italian, I rebooted and had English again. Are you sure it is really working, in your case? XanthraX
It's right. After installation, you can change the language in System Preferences -> international, ONLY for your user, not for the entire system. If you add other users they can set these own languages, but I guess you don't need this. You can change the entire system language with some utilities, I know it is possible with Cocktail TE, but now I am away from my computer and I don't know exactly tell you how. Get Cocktail and dig. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12756-language-chooser/#findComment-81710 Share on other sites

myzar
