djeglin
I had this problem with my install of 10.4.3 - It is the same no matter what version you use. This problem comes from the jumper settings on your dvd drive usually (At least it did on mine, and has on others' too). You may find that your drives jumpers are set to "auto" or some similar. You need to make sure they are set to "Matster" for the install to work off the drive i think. It worked in my case... I hope it works for you, too. XanthraX
Certainly your problem is not the SSE2 processor. I installed the OSX 10.4.3 8f1111 patched with "JaS.1111a.Generic.Patch.V4.2b" on a SSE2 machine and it works verry well. These computer is on a friend (I have a SSE3 processor) and now i don't remember all specs, I know only is P4 2.6 G on a motherboard Asus P4V800-X (VIA don't know what kind chipset). In your second picture (with -v) in the first long row appears SSE3 on the screen? It doesn't seen well. Maybe your DVD drve can't read well the media. I have used different DVDs to install different version of MacOSX and I find TDK DVD-R to be the best. The computer reads this media continuous (without interruption) in opposition with other obscure media. Make a copy to other computer to a good media and is better to be a DVD-R, not RW. It will be better to have all PATA harddisks connected to the primary IDE controller and the DVD Writer as master to the secondary one (not a hdd and optical drive on the same controller). Plaease, verify on the Wiki of this site if your components are supported.
