airborne427
Hello, I have been wanting to buy a Macbook for over two years now, and never can come up with the spare cash. I own a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop which I bought new towards the end of 05. It has an SSE2 Intel mobil processor. I understand that the SSE2 is not as good for this setup as the SSE3, although I'm not sure what the difference is here. My goal here is to achieve a fully functioning laptop with OSX (preferably Lepard). Is this a reasonable expectation? I was happy to find that there are drivers for both my graphics card and my WiFi card. I've been told that laptop keyboards are usually PS/2. I have no idea whether mine is, but if it is, is it possible to make it work?
inimicus
Do it. The worst thing that can happen is that you'll have to put Windows back on. No guts, no glory.
MGJulius
Hey, I would do it. What do you have to lose, not like your laptop's gonna explode. Just make sure you select a SSE2 kernel to use in the installation. Good luck. EDIT: Also select the PS2 Controller fix to use your internal laptop and trackpad. Almost all laptops have PS/2 input devices.
