TheBogieMan
Was running Leo4all V2, applied the 10.5.3 combo update, re-applied my kernel and all was well, updated to 10.5.4, did a back up of my kernal prior to install but foolishly let the thing restart without me copying the kernel back over, now it goes into an endless boot, die, restart loop. Is there anyway I can copy the kernel back over to bring it all back to life again or is it a case of a fresh install and start again from scratch ? Hagar
boot the install DVD & use the terminal on that to replace the kernel or specify the backup one (if it's in / ) in Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
TheBogieMan
Urgh the dreaded Terminal, not used any form of shell since my Amiga days I saved the backed up Kernel in the Desktop folder, I know its a bit cheeky but would it be possible to tell me exactly what I need to type in Terminal, or can I do this from within Transmac ? Cheers in advance Bogie
TheBogieMan
All fixed using Transmac (once I'd selected the show hidden files option) Yes I now have a fully 10.5.4'upped hack 100504_grab.tiff
