ellipse1000
Hello, I've had much success installing Kalyway 10.5.1 on an older Asus T3-P5G965, Intel G965 barebone + Core2Duo E6400. It seems the computer was made for Mac OS... Realtek LAN and audio are recognized without a hitch, SATA drive & DVD never a problem. Front connectors + FireWire work too. My graphics card is an old NVidia 6600 + 256 MB ram, works with NVinject (had to be applied once more after upgrading to 10.5.3). Technical specs here: http://www.matbe.com/articles/lire/360/asu...ebone/page2.php The LAN card is a Realtek 1000 I believe. Which options did you use when you installed? I have a stock system with onboard intel video. Hi I have the same barebone, but with 8400gs 512mb and 1 gb of ram. but I'm having problems with it, everything installs fine but when it goes to boot in verbose mode i see like 5 lines of output then the screen goes black. what are the exact options in customize did you use? and did you have any luck installing any other distros and versions? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123243-success-on-barebone-asus-t3-p5g965/#findComment-1318706 Share on other sites

Upgraded to 10.5.8 via iDeneb combo Update (had to add graphics patch again - GMA 950 )- Everything is still rock solid But the USB is stuck on 1.1 cannot get 2.0 speeds yet! Still Working on it. Everything else works perfect! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123243-success-on-barebone-asus-t3-p5g965/#findComment-1346260 Share on other sites

I've finally got it fully working in 64bit mode with official ASUS BIOS; nawcom x86 mod boot CD; retail 10.6 DVD; nVidia 8400GS 512mb PCIe; 10.6.8 Combo; USB FIX and edited NVDANV50Hal.kext n.b. it also works with ATI 4650 HD and modded kexts but HD performance is poor with full HD content EDIT: DON'T USE IDE DVDROM AND DISABLE Jmicron controller in BIOS Nvidia uses: - Add your device ID in /system/library/extensions/NVDANVxxHal.kext/contents/info.plist - Find/download an NVinject.kext, any one will do, they're basically the same - Add your device ID in NVinject.kext/contents/info.plist In the same plist, set the NVCAP string correctly (More info: http://uphuck.ggrn.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4239) THIS IS REALLY CRUCIAL, make sure you use correct nvcap string for your card! And if you want more read this! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123243-success-on-barebone-asus-t3-p5g965/#findComment-1753127 Share on other sites
