~pcwiz
Why not just use an OS like Windows that doesn't care about Linux permissions and then wipe the drive? Even if the drive doesn't show up in My Computer, it can still be found and erased from Disk Management (Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management >> Disk Management) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/123147-format-usb-hard-drive/#findComment-872205 Share on other sites
Kane Adams
You know better then to say something like that ~pcwiz. Would I ask you why you use an hackintosh. no . ~pcwiz
Was just offering a suggestion...because if it won't work in Linux due to permissions and you can't format it (why not use a GParted LiveCD to format it??) then your only choice is to use an alternate OS that ignores the permissions, even though I still find it hard to believe that the HD cannot be formatted by using a LiveCD or something. Alessandro17
My suggestion: Keep your USB external hard drive inserted. Boot from this LiveCD: http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=05012 See what happens.
