I am getting the exact same issue so thought I'd bump this thread. Any ideas? ;]

I have one physical harddrive which I have partitioned. Both are formated and blank. File System is NTFS. Anything needs to be installed or changed?

Many thanks.

Try to format it FAT32 first

it said somewhere online that leopard doesnt use FAT32 and it wouldnt work. i mean, it has to be something with my harddrives that isnt right. Because my disk drive shows up.

Hi there, check that your HDD is partitioned as Master Boot Record (MBR) and that your target OS X volume on the HDD is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) using Disk Utility on Kalyway 10.5.2 Install DVD before going to Customize and Install......MBR seems to cause users fewer issues than GUID (GPT)..... :D

Regardless of the partition type, format, etc. The disk should show up in Diskutility. If it doesnt, it means the kext (driver) is not available. What is your motherboard model and what chipset does it use?

If the HDD is SATA, you can try setting the SATA mode to AHCI in BIOS.

As for the MBR thing, i have no idea what you are talking about. But i dont even get to the install part. when you have to go to Disk Utility, and chose what drive to install it on, my disk drive, and the install disk show up. no harddrives. The whole problem is not seeing them in diskutility=[

Do not confuse your optical drive CD/DVD drive (DVDRW) with your magnetic hard drive (HDD) in your posts!.....if you do not see your HDD in Disk Utility then as Gujal says you need to check you BIOS settings and if your HDD is SATA rather than PATA (IDE) then set to your SATA Controller to AHCI if that is a BIOS option......but first tell us your motherboard model number and the motherboard chipset type if you know it......

Motherboard:

Quanta 30CF 85.17

Chipset:

NVIDIA nForce 560 Rev.A2

Southbridge:

NVIDIA nForce 560

And I am not sure how to find out my Chipset

I didn't see any options to change SATA settings in BIOS so I'll put my BIOS if it helps:

BIOS:

Hewlett Packard

Version:F:07

Date: 8/9/07

OK you have an nForce chipset motherboard......is your CPU Intel or AMD........is your HDD SATA or PATA (IDE)......?

Is your DVDRW a SATA or PATA drive......what is your computer name/model.....laptop/desktop.....based on MOBO I guess a laptop....?
