Well i bougt a new i-mac abuot a month ago and got with it a DL-DVD MACOSX10.5.2 which i tried to install to my Ibook G4 1.2GHz Late 2004 model i bought it last week. But without any success. I can boot the DVD until it asks me to select my language and then it sais that it cannot be installed on my computer and stops there you can browse to some utils but never mind. Ive read that the new DVD instalation disks are locked to the UNIT ID to which are sold with. Is it possible to overide these locking mechanism if so please help me to restore my G4 back to life. Hagar
sounds like you have the wrong disc, you need one specific to your hardware *or* a retail disc *or* you need to hack the installcheck. .ShadowFox
1. If you used your iMac Leopard CD, it won't work 'cause it's an OEM disc; Apple only lets you install it using the disc that they gave you on the computer it came with. 2. Bittorrented it? Bad torrent. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122315-please-can-someone-help-me/#findComment-865846 Share on other sites
