sirmacallot
Hello all, Ofcourse all the settings are turned off to boot at a certain time but still the new 10.5 clients boot exactly at 2 in the morning. :censored2: Where else can I look for such settings? In EFI, can you configure anything inthere? The following text is a piece of the log where you can actually see the machine beeing started at 2 AM. Who can give me some pointers. sigxcpu
There is a bug in the firmware that makes the mac to boot at 0:00 GMT. This solved the issue for me: sudo pmset schedule wakeorpoweron "03/31/49 06:00:00 GMT" "com.elgato.workaround" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121720-2-am-boots/#findComment-861293 Share on other sites
sirmacallot
First of thanks for the reply. This solved the issue for me: sudo pmset schedule wakeorpoweron "03/31/49 06:00:00 GMT" "com.elgato.workaround" If I read your code correctly you set your Mac to wake up at 06 on the 31'st of march 1949 ore 2049?? I just want it to NOT wake up unless I press the powerbutton... Sure I can set the wake-up time from 02:00 too say 07:00 but then lots of computers would be idle for days using power because they are not used. And seeing we don't use any Elgato software (Eye-tv) what will the com.elgato entry do for us?? There is a bug in the firmware that makes the mac to boot at 0:00 GMT. Where did you get confirmation that it is a bug in the firmware? Nothing is posted on Apple's own pages as far as I know? sirmacallot
unintentional Startups A better description of the bug. And I also think there are allot more people out there that have the bug they just go, 'did I leave the mac ON yesterday???' and pay no further mind too it. eberts
Not really a firmware bug, it's more a software bug caused by a broken com.apple.AutoWake.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. (Google it) Just delete that preference file and the problem should be gone. (My hacky used to wake up at 1am/GMT+1) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121720-2-am-boots/#findComment-863620 Share on other sites

I'll report back later. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121720-2-am-boots/#findComment-863649 Share on other sites
