zazman
what steinberg says about future osx86 cubase developpment : (from steinberg web) this could help you to make you an real idea about how cubase sx4 could work on osx intel ! Steinberg commits to development for Mac/Intel : Compatibility to new Apple Mac platform guaranteed for future product versions Anaheim/Hamburg, January 19 2006 – Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announced its commitment to developing its audio software products such as Cubase and Nuendo for the latest generation of Intel-based Macintosh computers. “Steinberg’s development activity for this exciting new platform is continuing apace,” says Steinberg’s Director of Engineering, Markus Stehlik. “The latest version of our VST plug-in standard released at the NAMM show already supports the Mac/Intel hardware platform, and future Mac versions of our products will also support the new standard,” Stehlik adds. Steinberg has already engineered test versions of its Cubase and Nuendo host applications for the new platform ahead of a future commercial release for the Mac/Intel versions. “We’re very pleased with our progress in the development for Mac/Intel and will be offering full support in later versions of Cubase and Nuendo in 2006,” comments Claus Menke, Steinberg’s Director of Product Management. sheriffbounce
have the original version of cubase sx running (yes including the USB-dongle ...) basically it's running fine... before i tested it on a OSX-installation on my previous notebook (AMD64 3700+) where SX whas {censored} since the whole machine was running terrible slow... but now with my new core duo machine it's running fine... tested logic express too but logic doesn't recognize my m-audio keystation49E... so i gave a try to SX... the only problem is the lack of universal versions of all my plugins, thats why it doesn't make real sense at the moment to switch completely... have to go back to XP for music production Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12135-cubase-sx-3/#findComment-96542 Share on other sites
