Setnev
Hey guys, first i like to say that i love this site. I read all the time to find information i need. So here's the problem i am having. I recently installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on my new computer. First off here are the specs, Foxconn M7PMX-S Micro-ATX Motherboard -Integrated NVidia 7100 GFX -Realtek ALC888 HDAudio -Realtek 8211BL LAN Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz OC'd to 3.0GHz G.Skill 2GB DDR2 800 Seagate 250GB EIDE 7200RPM Hard Drive HP DVD±RW DL w/ Lightscribe Drive Added in Realtek RTL8139 Network Card compatible with OSX. I install everything and it works perfectly except for the sound. I used the Sleep Kernel, NVInject basic, and all other driver packages on the system. One day i found the ALC88x sound driver package on the site and downloaded it to see if it would work. I was halfway through installing it, when the kernel freaked out and told me to restart the computer in 4 different languages. I did and everytime it goes to the Apple Logo on boot up, i get the same error. I have run out of options here and frankly i am getting tired of reinstalling the OS everytime i mess up because it takes an hour and a half for it to install. First, i would like to know if there is a way to get back into the OS around the kernel freakout, and second, once i get in, is there a compatible hardware driver package that will work with the ALC888 and Kalyway 10.5.2 kernel system? Hmmm, you could boot in single user mode (-s at the boot prompt) and delete the sound kexts that caused the trouble. And AppleHDAPatcher 1.20 + the appropriate codec dump should work without problems with kalyway...
