jakimay
I have a Dell Inspiron 530, delivered with Vista. Didn't like it so put XP on. Now I don't have sound, and the system information tells me there is no sound device installed. I need Realtek ALC888 HD but can't find it anywhere. Can you techi guys help me please - I miss my music!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121058-dell-inspironxpno-sound/ Share on other sites
alicizmar
Now that sucks. Did you try Google? I'm guessing so. Assuming you have, the sound *should* be working (and that's just my guess as far as XP goes). Have you tried using a generic sound drive of some sort, or tested the sound under a Linux Live CD and/or other OS to make sure the hardware didn't go kaput?
