Sean Frisbey
I am running Kalyway's Mac OS X 10.5.2 right now. I need to update it to 10.5.4. How do I go about doing this? I tried just installing the combination update from Apple, but when I restarted, it wigged out. Did I do something wrong? Thank you!
GNU_Raziel
Hi, You can't go to 10.5.4 immediatly, first you need the Kalyway 10.5.3 ComboUpdate (found on TPB) and then update to 10.5.4 via SoftwareUpdate.(for Intel based computer only, if you have AMD computer, use the modified 10.5.4 update aviable on this forum)

Sean Frisbey, it all depends on your hardware. If you're running a vanilla install with EFI, then you should just be able to install the 10.5.4 combo update from Apple and be good to go. What hardware do you have?
GNU_Raziel
Considering the fact that Kalyway ComboUpdate do not replace system/hardware kexts and 10.5.4 Update do not break Intel based systems (do not saw any topic about this, expect for AMD users of course), hardware have nothing to do here. The only problem reported is USB hotplug broken on some system (and not on other, no matter the hardware) and perhaps some graphic card 3D loss (easily recovered by reinstalling up-to-date graphic kexts). I am no OSX guru but reading many threads, updating from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 is not a big problem for Intel owners and not so difficult for AMD owners... Have a nice day

He stated on original post "I tried just installing the combination update from Apple, but when I restarted, it wigged out.". Better to get Kaly Combo Update 10.5.3 and then use official Apple 10.5.4 update. Maybe you also would need Modbin 9.4 kernel. Check out my sig (and Google around) to find out which steps I did for my fully working 10.5.4 OS X.
