  1. How to update

Updating to 10.5.2/10.5.3 with iAtkos was explain MANY times on iAtkos forum, check their forum. FOr 10.5.4 update, if you have intel machine and use stock kernel/system kext you can do it from Software Update. If not (modified system kext and/or AMD machine) then use AMD prepared update. Have a nice day
  2. Hi, first, thx JaS for this release I actually use Kalyway release but will do a complete OSX re-install soon (because updating from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 broke some files, especially USB support...and after testing manuy apps I found the system polluated so i want a clean install) and I have only one question : -Is this release automatically install chameloen EFI ? (i mean, crush actual bootloader) If yes, is there a way to install chameloen EFI without modifying the bootloader (I use Dual boot GNU/Linux-OSX and I want GRUB to be the default bootloader) ? thx in advance, GNU_Raziel
  3. Leopard 10.5.4 Update

Considering the fact that Kalyway ComboUpdate do not replace system/hardware kexts and 10.5.4 Update do not break Intel based systems (do not saw any topic about this, expect for AMD users of course), hardware have nothing to do here. The only problem reported is USB hotplug broken on some system (and not on other, no matter the hardware) and perhaps some graphic card 3D loss (easily recovered by reinstalling up-to-date graphic kexts). I am no OSX guru but reading many threads, updating from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 is not a big problem for Intel owners and not so difficult for AMD owners... Have a nice day
  4. Leopard 10.5.4 Update

Hi, You can't go to 10.5.4 immediatly, first you need the Kalyway 10.5.3 ComboUpdate (found on TPB) and then update to 10.5.4 via SoftwareUpdate.(for Intel based computer only, if you have AMD computer, use the modified 10.5.4 update aviable on this forum)
  5. Success Story with Kalyway 10.5.2

HI, sorry for not being active on forum theses days but job come first ^^ I will probably do a complete re-install of Kalyway 10.5.2+ patch to 10.5.4 (will try differents patchs, not only kalyway combo 10.5.3) with lots of screenshots to end with a complete howto for Aspire 5920G owners. I do not have leopard retrail disk (and no money to buy it for the moment, spend all my money for an iMac 24inchs for my wife, it's provided with restore disks, not install disks) so I cannot test boot132+retrail disk install. As soon as I have time do to the howto I will post it here (screenshots will be in french, sorry folks ^^) The goal : have the closest possible install from vanilla to ensure the least problem will future updates. Stay tuned and remember : if you can, buy a real mac, that's the best way to have no problems
  6. Pwnage Tool 2.1 Released

Anyone have news about Installer 4 release ?? Cydia is {censored}, non-userfriendly package manager and I hope pwnage 2 will be updated to enable choose of the package manager. (it actully does but only cydia is aviable so it's a fake choice ^^)
  7. Success Story with Kalyway 10.5.2

Hi, I just add few words about Wifi and 10.5.3 update : * For 10.5.3 Update, it's simple, use kalyway 10.5.3 combo update release, it work like a charm, except for USB2.0 which was broken after update. To fix usb 2.0 (kinda dirty way since it left some warning during boot) re-install last PCGenUSB kext release with kexthelper (in KOOLSOFT). If it's still do not work, do this : -boot in safe mode (-s) -mount root filesystem with writing permissions : mount -uw / -delete AppleUSBEHCI.kext from /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins -copy PCGenUSBEHCI.kext to /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins -repair permissions -reboot -And voila, some warnings about preference file missing and kmod problem but USB2.0 is working (probably because 10.5.3 USB files are updated and PCGen driver need to) -Kinda dirty way I know, but it worked well * About wifi, I found a cheap USB2.0 dongle working like a charm, D-Link DWA-110, here is a french link to purchase it. OSX drivers are provided in install cd, they work with 10.4.x and 10.5.x, enjoy And to answer some PM i've recieved, I will post as soon as possible a complete hardware report for ACER Aspire 5920G to help newscomers choosing the right driver while installing kalyway 10.5.2 release.
  8. Generic USB2.0 (EHCI) Driver

Any update about 10.5.3 and this driver ? I cannot use mu Wifi dongle because it's USB 2.0 only... I hope you will find a way soon
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong (do no see "DRIVER WORKING !!!" post so i think not) but even if the driver do not KP anymore, it also still do not work so actueally there is no point installing it (except provide more log to Jalavoui but he will not touche the code anymore)... If I'm right, many people (including the stupid guy i am) were overexcited for nothing... (It's great that the driver do not KP and make the card on but it's still not usable) If i'm wrong, just forget it and enjoy
  10. Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel Amd

  11. Hi, you can post your hardware/tips used with a sucessfull kalyway 10.5.2 installation, here I go : ACER Aspire 5920g laptop : -CPU : Intel core2duo T7300 (working, no cpus=1 flag needed) -RAM : 4Go Corsair DDR2 667MHz (working, no "more than 2Go" bug) -Optical Drive : Combo DVD-ROM Sata 2 (working) -HDD : Hitachi 250Go Sata 2 (Working) -Motherboard Chipset : Intel ICH8/82801 (working) -VGA : GeForce 8600M GS (working with an external NVinject driver, kernel panic if using driver on DVD) -IEEE1384 : Ricoh OHCI (working) -Lan : Broadcom Netlink Gigabit (not working) -Wlan : Intel pro/Wireless 3945ABG (not working, a WIP driver exist) -RICOH Integrated SD card Reader (not working) -USB 2.0 (working using USBPCGen driver) -Vanilla Kernel 9.2.2 (Working) -Dual boot Ubuntu 8.04/Leopard (working with pc_efi 8.0) Tips : -You can find the a working VGA driver for this laptop HERE -The beta wifi driver install fine but the network manager provided with it (power on/off device, select modes, ect...) hang so it's impossible to use the device, Airport see no wifi. -If you have boot freeze after installing driver/update that need a reboot, boot in single mode (-s) and use the fsck -fy command to fix the problem. -If you have no keyboard after installing driver/update that need a reboot, connect an USB keyboard and boot OSX, this will force AppleACPIPlatform.kext to be fully reloaded and will fix the problem. -If you have no keyboard after a normal boot (nothing installed/modified before) just reboot and it wil be fixed (rare bug) That's all for me
  12. How to update without an issue?

Hi, EFI also work with AMD processors. And even with EFI, you cannot just install System Updates without saving and then restoring some files (Intel only, don't know for AMD) : -AppleSMBIOS.kext -System.kext (not sure you need to save it) -AppleACPIPlatform.kext (for laptop and PS/2 devices users) -AppleHDA.kext (for HD Audio cards not officially supported by apple) -mach_kernel (only if you do not use vanilla kernel) I hope this is help you a little

  15. 10.5.2 Combo Update by Trauma

Edit : Je répond moi-même a mon problème...
