Anyone done a retail install on Msi Wind or it's clone the Advent 4211.

Have got close a couple of times - generic 132 iso and retail gets up to point where user details required but no keyboard detected so cannot complete.

Have tried several modifications to extra's file in 132 iso including kext's from the Kalyway install method by Paul @ http://www.modaco.com/content/asus-eee-pc-...nd-advent-4211/ - which works great but I would prefer a retail install to avoid future update complications.

Just not found the right combination - yet

Come on you geniuses this should be an easy one and would make a lot of people happy.

It's been a while but I got there in the end - Here's a preboot iso for retail install.

Wind_Advent_Preboot.iso.zip

After install you need to update software to 10.5.5. then sort Audio, Video, Ethernet (RealtekR1000.kext), add ClamshellDisplay.kext

This is one way to do that (post 514 - Kamikaze):

Then decide boot method.

I used munky EFI boot partition method and it works great! (Thanks to all involved)

Just so you don't get messed up with the preboot:

On power up press F11 to get boot options, pick your DVD/CD and press enter the loader will start, when it gets to flashing between “system config file blah, blah” & “Press any key to start up from CD-ROM blah, blah” press F8, then press esc. Eject the boot iso cd and swap for your retail disc. You should see “Typical boot devices are 80 (First HD), 81 (Second HD) Enter two-digit hexadecimal boot device [ef]:

Type ef then press enter – your install of retail should progress

Good Luck and have fun

Hello.

I´ve recently aquired a MSI Wind netbook and intend on installing retail mac on it.

I´ve seen your post and find the idea of 100% vanilla really apealing, however I lack the time for forum surfing and plist editing now and think i´ll take quite some time to do this alone. So, I´ve seen we have the same notebook and the same install method and was wondering if you could supply me with your kexts to get the install fully working on munky´s method (my system seems to boot ok, but the ps2 mouse, keyboard, video, audio and other kexts doesn´t seem to load...).

Thanks in advance

Toadman
