Hi all,

I have the same problem too. However I am able to boot using DVD with the following command rd=disk0s5 -f -v, though none of the my ether net, graphics card, sound cardor USB seem to be working despite trying several ways the install drivers to Leopard. The following picture is the error I got when I run with the command above with DVD and my laptop specs can be found the following website.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Btw I've used the IATKOS v4i install...

What Kernel did you install?

Which packages did you select subesquent to the base install pre-selected packaged by the iATKOS DVD?

From there we can figure out the reason for it not booting.

For instance:

My System: ASUS Vintage V2-PH1

CPU: Pentium D 940

RAM: 4GB PC-5300

GPU: XFX 8600GTS 256MB Ram

QE: Disabled after using 0.2.1 nvinject even though the card includes the hex address references to enable the QE.

DRIVES: PATA WD 80GB for OS X, SATA WD Caviar 320GB for Linux

DVD: iATKOS 10.5.4 2.

SIZE: 2831122432 iATKOS_4i.iso

------------------------------------

QUESTIONS:

Did you select the Vanilla 9.4 Darwin Kernel?

Did you select the Apple SMBios?

Did you select the Nvinject specific to your GPU or other GPU using Intel, ATI?

SUGGESTION:

Run it without the the 9.4 Vanilla Kernel.

You can select all the network drivers as the modules will be dynamically loaded as they are needed.

Apple kext for the BIOS you can use or not use with the pre-selected SSE3 kernel on the DVD.

I've yet to get the 9.4 Vanilla Kernel to load without hanging and going into a panic and thus system reboot.

Alright the following are the specific details of my problem:

My System: Fujitsu E8410

Chipset: Intel 965PM Express Chipset

CPU: Intel Core Duo T7300

RAM: 2 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G

Ethernet: Intel 82566MM Gigabit Network Connection, Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965 AGN

Sound: RealTek ALC262 HD audio codec

DVD: iATKOS 10.5.4 2.

SIZE: 2831122432 iATKOS_4i.iso

Kernel: Darwin Kernel 9.2.0

(will add more details if required)

Problem: Several kernel errors while booting and booting screen freezes in Darwin Kernel loading portion while in -v mode. Without -v mode it goes to the apple loading screen, screen then darkens with message in several languages saying that that I need to reboot. I've pasted a a screenshot of the portion when the loading screen freezes in my post above. I've also tried cpus=1 in addition to the normal command I run to boot, it still gives the same error.

QUESTIONS:

Did you select the Vanilla 9.4 Darwin Kernel? I've used Darwin kernel 9.2.0

Did you select the Apple SMBios? Not sure. How can I check?

Did you select the Nvinject specific to your GPU or other GPU using Intel, ATI? I've installed all NVIDIA drivers in the installation package. I've also tried the manual installation method found in the graphic card forums. None of them worked.

Thanks for the replies!

Hi,

I have the same specs except CPU. I'm able to install iATKOS v4i on my notebook & it is working. I installed it with EFI & stock kernel (9.4.0). You may want to try install with different selection. For example if you have try install with EFI & stock kernel, try again with ToH kernel.

EDIT: If you install Apple SMBIOS before (under Patch section), try not install it. And I have install iATKOS v4i on notebook with Nvidia Geforce 8600GS. I got software for Core Image & QE not supported. I think for Nvidia owner, especially Geforce 8600GS, stick with Kalyway 10.5.2 until iATKOS release new DVD with working patches. I also tested iATKOS v4i with ATI Radeon HD2600 XT. I got hardware accelerated with CI & QE supported.

Good luck. :)
